The Tale of a Janky Mouth
My dental background has made me the anxiety ridden nutcase that I am today when placed in a dentist's chair. I have had my teeth compared to a horse's and other horrific things I have dealt with growing up that made the jump to see an orthodontist take longer than usual.
I had one consultation scheduled at an different Orthodontist. I ended up cancelling because the fact that his staff was surprised the consultation was for myself and not a child bothered me. My mouth is something that holds a lot of insecurities and I need to have trust in who messes with it. I do not need staff shock on top of my anxieties. So I went on a different consultation with Dr. Lathe Miller DDS MS.
I walked in with thoughts of my mouth being beyond janky. To me it could not be fixed without surgery, extractions, headgear, and several years of braces. I cried that day when he called me a mild case with only a 14-16 month sentence in braces.
